Projects undertaken by ALA produce guidelines that are provided to standards developing organizations (SDOs) for consensus development and dissemination.

Conduct Implementation Projects.

ALA works with lifeline stakeholders, owners/operators, and cognizant regulatory bodies to facilitate use of ALA-developed guidelines, and conducts demonstration projects to "pilot" new guidelines.

Increase Awareness.

ALA participates in national conferences, workshops, and meetings to establish awareness among utility and transportation stakeholders and regulators.
